What is Grey water?

Grey water is waste water generated from baths, sinks, showers, laundry and kitchen.

Black water is waste from the toilet.

Free recycled grey water will help our scarce water resources. An average family of four wastes 3000 litres of grey water a week down the drain. Make good use of this daily waste water from your bathroom, come rain or shine, as a constant and essential free supply of water and give life to your gardens. Recycling is the way forward.

Can I use Grey Water to irrigate my garden?

You can utilize grey water from baths, sinks and showers to irrigate your thirsty trees, shrubs and plants, not vegetable gardens though.  The most efficient method is via surface or sub surface drip irrigation (We recommend our superior BioDrip line) directing the water to where your plants need it…at the root zone.

Grey water does not need treatment for it to be safe for garden irrigation. It contains nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium which are beneficial to plants. It is better for you and the environment to use natural or organic body soaps and shampoos. Bleach or bleach based products should not be used. Instead, use environment friendly cleaning agents in bathrooms as these are biodegradable and have no damaging additives.

What about Rain Water?

Rain water is part of a never ending cycle.

Water conservation is now an essential part of Watermatic Ltd's mission to help achieve a more sustainable society.

As water meters are now becoming compulsory in the UK, savings on water bills are considerable. Delivering precious clean tap water requires more and more effort, energy and expense. For garden irrigation we simply don't need to use purified drinking mains water. Harvesting rain water is another free resource to water your garden.

Our systems are designed to collect roof and/or ground water via pipes, filtering out leaves and particles, storing water in above or below ground tanks ideal for automatic garden irrigation.

Watermatic can individually design a comprehensive system for you, accommodating a wide range of requirements from a small roof collection to a 55000 litre galvanised tank collection for larger needs. We can evaluate the average rain water in your area, work out the size of your roof area and recommend a tank and installation especially to suit you. These innovative harvesting systems will help conserve increasingly scarce water resources efficiently, responsibly and intelligently. Clearly the benefits can be realised for the environment and for us all.

We use the best engineering principles with professional, high quality tested products to ensure your investment in our system will give you cost effective water efficiency with reliability to last………. and of course a very happy summer garden!!!
